Livuna

A young dwarf, whose once-smooth skin is broken up by patches of shiny black scales, resting comfortably in leather armor emblazoned with the Maelwe Rose.

Roleplaying

* overcompensating for insecurity about their youth
* loathes both the PCs and themselves

Key Info

  • The scales come from a curse placed on them by Vieta Maelwe, as punishment for trying to flee, something Maelwe learned by looking into their dreams
  • Vieta Maelwe will lift the curse if they serve her loyally for a decade.
  • They fear Vieta Maelwe, but they will serve her because they believe (probably correctly) that there is nowhere they could go that Maelwe could not find them.
  • They hate the PCs for placing them in this situation and refusing to help when given the chance.
  • They would like to tie the PCs up and drop them in the desert, leaving them for dead under the buzzards.
  • Maelwe has given the task of completing the hit on the PCs and "rescuing" Nalca to Livuna.

Background

  • While working for Vieta Maelwe's gang, they were put on the crew sent to kill the PCs
  • The PCs killed their comrades, and they begged to be spared, offering to help if only the party would aid them in escaping Maelwe
  • The PCs instead took information from them and bound them overnight while plotting to kill them. Livuna took advantage of an inattentive guard to slip away into the night.
  • Not knowing what else to do, they returned to Vieta Maelwe's service, where she interrogated them about the failure, ultimately discerning Livuna's growing disloyalty. As punishment, Maelwe cursed them to gradually become a snake, offering the cure for the curse in exchange for a decade of perfect service.

Stats

Livuna has the statistics of a cult fanatic.

They are accompanied by three flying snakes that Vieta Maelwe has given them to command. For each snake, once per day they can look through that snake's eyes, though as long as they are doing so they are ignorant as to their own surroundings. They can command the snakes telepathically, but only within 300 feet.
