Vieta Maelwe's primary business is the fencing of stolen (typically magic) items to foreign lands, but her security apparatus doubles as a private black-market mercenary corps
Maelwe took on a security contract delivered by a shady barrister named Ewon Siraca, whom Nalca had never seen before about a year ago
Siraca delivered another contract to kill the party to Maelwe just before the party arrived in town.
Aside from the fact that Durk is Farom Fischer's child, Nalca has no idea who the PCs are
Nalca has dispatched Laudvir to infiltrate the Yatanese military on Nalca's behalf, though he doesn't have any particular plans at present on how to capitalize on this.
Nalca is plotting to intercept the PCs shipment of gold, so that either his family will capture and kill them when they come to investigate, or Ramsek Vadi's enforcers will kill them when they fail to pay -- he wants to eliminate the possibility that Durk will reveal Laudvir's deception.
