The Weeping Circle

An ancient secret society, established after the collapse of the Tuldran civilization. Tuldran society was destroyed in the Demon Wars, which saw various factions summoning more and more powerful extradimensional entities to fight for them, culminating in one group summoning Astoreth, the Black Sky. Astoreth destroyed Tuldra and killed most of the people there, before being slain by the Eight Heroes. In order to prevent her summoning from ever happening again, each of the Eight took a fragment of Astoreth into themselves, thereby requiring that anyone wishing to resurrect Astoreth must find a descendant of all Eight. Unfortunately, the semi-heretical Dusk Knights, a group within the Church of Varyalkum, have misinterpreted fragmentary texts and believe that Astoreth is Haka and have come to the conclusion that God wants them to re-summon her so that the final battle can be fought and the world reborn. To this end, they are seeking to combine bloodlines to create individuals who could resurrect Astoreth. The Weeping Circle executes these individuals, as well as individuals who may have children who would be candidates. Ultimately, they realize that killing all of the Eight's descendants would be impossible, but anyone with more than one of the Eight in their ancestry becomes a target.

They have a base of operations in a ruined library deep in the forests of Ozar, and a primary headquarters hidden in Casiel. They occasionally rob or loot in order to fund their operations.
